That which feeds the heart, feeds the soul.

We sell funny cards. That’s what we’re known for!

Mary and Jonathon started Spirit Publishing in 2002 in a humble shoebox-sized office in Potts Point, Sydney. Combining their extensive experience in publishing and a love for print and design, their light-hearted take on greeting cards soon caught on around Australia and New Zealand.

Fast forward 20 years, Mary and Jonathon still love what they do. They continue to set the tone for the business with their keen sense of humour and a fine eye for detail. Spirit has expanded to offer carefully curated ‘the best of the best’ collections from around the world.

For example, the handcrafted cards from imported ranges of Meri Meri and Graphique de France offer customers a true point of difference. While unique ‘add on ranges’ express modern humour trends with Offensive + Delightful and Umlaut Brooklyn.

In addition, collaborations with Australian artists will grow with such ranges as Grandiflora and more in the works. Over the years, Spirit has built a dedicated team of like-minded creatives, from graphic designers to production managers and merchandisers, who embrace wit and self-expression through our greeting cards.

Spirit Publishing is a 100% Australian owned business.

FSC Certification

Our Spirit ranges are proudly printed in Australia and New Zealand on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified recycled paper stocks and sustainable soy inks.

FSC ensures a positive impact on forests, people and wildlife, providing the highest level of protection for rare and endangered species. Also, it is the only forest certification system that requires consultation with local Indigenous people with the intention of protecting their rights.

We work exclusively with FSC certified local printing partners to further minimise our carbon footprint, and we are constantly looking for ways to continue reducing our impact on the environment.

Please note some of our imported and handcrafted ranges are not FSC certified.

Inclusivity is in our Spirit! We value our highly diverse team and their different perspectives and experiences.
